Within our school children are encouraged as individuals to achieve their full potential. Education is enjoyable and our children are well motivated towards learning. We foster confidence and independence encouraging children to be articulate and develop the lively and enquiring minds needed to become enthusiastic learners.

With such young children we understand our part in their social and emotional development. Children understand the clear expectations we have towards behaviour and learn to cope with relationships both with peers and adults and behave responsibly. We encourage children to understand the feelings of others, to respect their values and to consider thoughtfully their own attitudes, values and beliefs.
'We are commited to offering the children a high standard of education, achieved through an ongoing programme of learning which provides a broad and balanced curriculum in line with statutory requirements.'

Programmes of study are planned to suit individual children's needs and various stages of development. Special educational needs are catered for and fully integrated throughout the curriculum.

We understand the importance of an enjoyable day at school and use a variety of teaching and learning styles to motivate and stimulate our children. Full use is made of our surroundings, community and many resources adding interest and a tangible dimension to learning.
'The success of our school relies on a team effort by the whole school community of staff, governors, children, parents and friends. All are valued for their commitment and involvement.'

We encourage and welcome parental and family involvement in all aspects of a child's education, and we seek & take into account the views & concerns of parents.

Close links are maintained with internal and external pre-school groups creating a smooth transition from home to school and we strive to foster a positive relationship with our partner school to achieve continuity as the children move on to Year Three.

Children at South Molton Infants will tell you that "they never want to leave".

From the smiles on the faces of toddlers at our "Books for Babies"  to the tears and excitement as the Year Twos move on to Key Stage Two every child within our school is happy and content. Fully immersed and involved in a safe, stimulating and successful learning environment where you can be sure that they are "Growing up with confidence".
