Lantern Parade
Friday 7th December is late night shopping in South Molton and South Molton Business Forum is hoping it will be a bigger, better and brighter event than usual. As it now seems to have become a school tradition, we shall be taking part in a lantern parade which leaves school at 6.00pm to make our way to The Square and we will be joined along the way by the pupils from South Molton Junior School. Many of the roads into the town will be closed to traffic, but we would expect parents to be responsible for their child, (sorry, but we cannot take unaccompanied children). It is also hoped that the pupils from SM Community College will be parading from the other end of the town and we will all join together in The Square for carols around the Christmas tree. If it rains, this will take place in the Pannier Market, where there will be more entertainment and Christmas stalls. As in the past, we shall be having a lantern making workshop here in the school hall on Friday 23rd November at 1.45pm in order that parents, grandparents etc can make a lantern with their child. Please bring your own torch and we will supply the rest! This is usually a very enjoyable occasion with a Christmas atmosphere. We hope you will be able to join us. Please return the slip at the end of the newsletter.

Christmas Performances
Although it is only November, you may find the following dates useful for the busiest time of the year!
The performances will be Thursday 13th and Friday 14th December both in the afternoon.
Further details nearer the time.

Road Safety
The lollipop ladies have asked that parents and children use the lollipop ladies to cross the roads safely and to wait while they stop the traffic. It has also been mentioned that there was a near miss with a child walking too close to the edge of the road; please encourage them to walk on the inside of the pavement with the adult on the edge nearest to traffic to keep them safe. Thank you.

Application Forms for Junior School
All children currently in Y2 have been given an application form for their KS2 education. Please can you complete this form and return to this school office as soon as possible. Thank you

As a small reminder to other parents, school dinners cost £1.75 per day which is £8.75 per week, as there are still a few parents still paying at the old rate.
