Friday 20th June
Pirates Day
We shall be having a “pirate’s day” on Friday 20th June. We will be having stories and making puppets with Don Newton, an entertainer who has been in school before. We want to encourage the pupils to come to school dressed as pirates, (but wearing something that can get messy if necessary).
If there are any parents who have CRB checks that would like to help out with the art and crafty stuff, please pass your name to your child’s class teacher. We need to ask for a donation of £1.00 per child to cover the cost of the day; the PTA will be donating the rest of the cost.
Olde English Fayre
Good luck to Andrew and Samir for the Olde English Fayre. If you would like to support them, it is being held on Saturday 21st June
New parent governor
We welcome Darren Squires as our new parent governor. We also have a new clerk to governors, Kevin Titmus. We hope that you will be able to meet our new faces in the autumn term.
Lunch Box Tip
If you want to keep your child’s lunchbox fresh, but don’t have an icepack, why not freeze their carton of drink if they have one.
Swimming Club Gala
For all those parents whose children have swimming lessons with SM Swimming Club, please note that due to unforeseen circumstances the swimming gala next Monday has been cancelled..
There will be lessons as usual.
September 2008 Intake
We have begun our induction meetings for the new children who start in September 2008.
Sports Day
This year probably made history in that the weather stayed sunny and that sports day was held on the first attempt!
Thank you for attending, we hope you enjoyed watching our budding athletes.
Dinner Money On-line
This seems to be working very well. The school is sent a list of who has paid by 8.30am on Mondays. If you are interested then please go on-line at http://shop.devon.gov.uk
Dinners are priced at £1.85 each or £9.25 per week.
Scooters/Bikes
If your child brings a bike or scooter into school, please could you ensure that they are named or have an identifying mark on it, as we have several that are very similar.
Congratulations
Congratulations to all those children who have recently shared their achievements in our Celebration Assembly. We have said well done for Book Track, gymnastics, Race for Life swimming and Junior Football awards. If any children do receive a certificate or trophy for any out of school activities please bring them into school.
